Born from loss and built on love, Tom Ro Haven was founded by Gill McCulloch in memory of her nephew Luke and her parents, Tom and Ro. What began as a search for healing revealed a heartbreaking truth—many horses, once no longer useful, are neglected or euthanized without a chance at rehabilitation. Tom Ro was created to change that.

Today, we are a registered non-profit providing sanctuary and rehabilitation for abused and neglected horses in Noordhoek, Cape Town. These horses become part of equine-assisted healing programs, supporting children and young adults who have experienced trauma, offering them connection, trust, and hope.

Beyond our haven, we work within underprivileged communities—providing essential supplies, education, and ongoing support to improve horse welfare and prevent neglect at its source.

At Tom Ro Haven, we heal horses—and through them, we help heal people.
